MSite Solutions:  MSite Workforce App and Direct to Worker Notifications

Galliford Try’s Monk Bridge development project were one of the first sites to utilise MSite’s new Direct to Worker Notifications functionality. This new digital tool bridges the ‘communication void’ between site teams and the frontline construction workforce. Direct to Worker Notifications allows site teams and head offices to send direct messages to the entire workforce (or select groups) in real time via the MSite Workforce App.

We recently caught up with the Senior Project Manager on the site, Alan Neal, to get his take on this new piece of workforce comms functionality. He said: “The MSite notifications feature is a great tool for rolling out any important site notices to the workers on site, especially COVID related comms messages. For example, I’ve been using it for COVID self-declaration surveys and also enforcing mask wearing on site. Originally, the only way to get messages out to the workers on-site was to coordinate meetings with site supervisors and have them distribute updates to operatives.”

"The solution acts as a failsafe to stop COVID spreading on site, allowing us to screen for symptoms and enforce site policies. It provides us with instant acknowledgement notifications have been read and understood at an individual level"

In addition to streamlining the of actual delivery of messages to site operatives, MSite Direct to Worker Notifications provides site teams with a clear log of past messages sent. Alan Neal went on to comment: “It’s easy to track exactly what messages have been sent out and by whom has sent them. The system provides us with instant acknowledgement notifications have been read and understood at an individual level.”

Clearly, the MSite Workforce App and its new Direct to Worker Notifications functionality is allowing projects like Galliford Try’s Monk Bridge development overcome some of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and also to significantly improve the construction site communications process.

Alan Neal summarised with: “All in all, it’s a really good solution - I’ve recommended it to the Galliford Try board to be put forward as best practice.”
